Page 23 of the July T&FN has a bar graph showing the number of collegiate men making the Olympic team in each year since 1932. The magazine's formchart (thanks, dj) predicted that only one male collegian would make the team (Jonas, HJ).
There are various ways of counting collegians, and I don't know what criteria Jim Rorick used in his chart. But here's what we have after the first half of the Trials (corrections welcomed):

Women
**Harrison 400H Virginia Tech
McLain TJ Stanford (entered as unattached/Nike, wore Nike uniform)

Johnson Hept Arizona State (entered as unattached/Nike, wore Nike uniform)
