Apparently fast track don't want it to be, but I can't remember the reason.
    GLs MUST:
-be Friday night meets (Berlin was the exception for UEFA reasons, I believe)
-must have certain events over others
-must be on the European pay-channel Santana, while a meet like London is going to get 6hrs on the BBC.

The short of it is that GL meets must conform to GL standards and that doesn't work for everyone.

Now today I was thinking the same thing...and was about to post it. BAH. It's been of Golden League level for YEARS now if you ask me.

This time, however, i wasn't in the shower, i was in the swimming pool...it's clearly something to do with water....

Coe posed that same question six years ago:

Yes, but I'm not sure it was quite as pertinent then as it is now...

The point is that it likely should have been then, and should be now.

Actually, Coe:s demands/requests were followed by the stadium undergoing a £1,5-million upgrade in 2004 (the track and base mat was completely renewed with Polytan). Might be coincidental, but the point is that this fine meet is worthy of a GL status. It even meets the seating requirement of 15.001+ (16.000).

WTF no Ukrainians in the women's 800/1500? I'd have bought myself a late ticket if there had been!
