I saw the interview...time trial in 8:40. Pretty damn good for never having raced it. Traffic is a whole different story going over barriers, but then, as you stated, he is a racer. I can't imagine getting that hulking mass over barriers...hahahaha. Oh wait, I weighed in at 165 my sr yr running steeple.

He's got 30-35 pounds on the Kenyan contingent...he'd be the only one capable.

      Barringer 9:22.73
      Williard 9:22.76
Geez, a dominating, super-competitive 1 - 2 finish by two promising young American ladies, both a jaw-dropping 5 seconds (almost) under the AR. And what sort of attention do they get on this forum?

Well, I'll tell you what sort: Less than Webb's 6th place and Solinsky's 16th place finishes. (Not to mention way less than Mennisco's violated goat over on the Pistorius thread.) It's un-fricken' real!

Note also that the race had half a dozen other runners with PRs in the 9:27-29 range and only one of them even went with them; Willard did it all on her own rather than getting towed along in a fast pace. I think that both of them can run in the 9:1x range although not necessarily in Beijing -- is either of them a good hot-weather runner? It seems that Willard has probably run more in that environment than most of the other contenders, but that is a guess.

I'll weigh in on our steeple girls.

It was definitely one of the more entertaining races in Eugene. And I think it sets up for good fun in Beijing (albeit smoggy fun)

          Whooo hooo!

Neither Henry Marsh nor Doug Brown were all that tiny.

I simply don't believe it last week showed that Sarah is in terrific form. I think there's something wrong with the timing. I fully expect her to break the British record this year. Probably at the Olympics bacuse she always rises to the big occasion
