Very impressive - definitely the best of the Brits and outside hope for the final? No one else went with Faith Macharia so Meadows, Simpson, and Wurth-Thomas were way back.

Uceny and Wurth-Thomas both got PBs of 2:00.01 and 2:01.34 respectively.

Normally if it was a straight 4+4 or 3+3 & 2 fastest losers from 2 semis in Beijing then I'd feel a lot better about Okoro's chances of making the final. Given the recent fad for 2+2+2 and 2 fastest losers from 3 semis, you can't bank on even Jelimo or Jepkosgei getting through!

How can she aim for more than just making the final ?

Well she could aim for a medal, but it's gonna be tough for anyone to wrest them from the hands of Soboleva, Jelimo & Jepkosgei don't you think?

That's exactly why I would consider making the final a success for Okoro .

Okoro now leapfrogs Diane Modahl to become No.4 fastest Briton of all-time.
