Yes, it’s true. Allyson Felix, at 18 years old already a sensation at 200 meters, is stepping up to the 400 at the adidas Boston Indoor Games on Jan. 31. For added intrigue, she will face a field that includes veteran Sandie Richards, the 35-year-old from Jamaica. A three-time World Championship medalist, Richards started winning before Felix learned how to crawl.
Late-breaking news: Bernard Lagat, the Olympic bronze medalist at 1500m in Sydney and the second-fastest man all-time at that distance, has just been added to the field and will line up against Haile Gebrselessie at 3000 meters.
