i've had a mare over the past couple of meets forgot to predict in Zurich and got about 250 in Lausanne so i want to do good this time and want some advice. i know absolutely nothing about mens middle distance races they bore me to death and different people win every week. therefore i have practically every athlete still available to choose

Well, Sihine is almost as good as Bekele so he has to be the favourite. And I don't see anyone better than Kipchoge entered in the 5000 meters. For 1500 meters and 800 meters, who knows? I see that Kamel and Kiprop are back to their "better" distances, so maybe there could be a repeat of Lausanne winners there? Although Kamel never seems to win at 800 meters, just run fast times every now and then.

But don't listen to me, I've shown great aptitude in this contest for picking athletes on their bad day.

Thinking a bit more, I actually think Kipchirchir Komen and Kirwa Yego would be pretty good picks too - after all, both finished strong in Lausanne. But there are at least 4 people in 800 with good chance of winning - Bungei, Kamel, Chepkirwok and Kirwa Yego. For 1500 just about any of the Kenyans could do it - just pick one who's not pacing the race :wink:

i don't really want to choose any of them but i'm running out of options :-( there is no point picking women sprinters as they seem to make it up as they go along. has anyone won 2 races in a row this year ?? otherwise i;m guessing for 2-3-4. i might go with

Kiprop has been very consistent this season, even if he doesn't win he should at least be able to crack the Top 3 again. Same goes for DKK as long as it's not a championship race.

I'm toying with picking Gevaert. It could backfire and she could finish 8th in a "farewell race", though.

I'm kinda with you. The w100m is very weak (Purposefully so I'm sure) so Kim has a better than average chance.

For some reason the IAAF does not seem to think Camejo is worthy of being included in their lists. Which leads me to the following question - to be held off until the WAF - what changes would we like to see in this competition, to make it more fair? I know I have some issues.

Right, I think I'll choose Yusuf Saad Kamel, Sileshi Sihine, Eliud Kipchoge and Kerron Stewart and I'm undecided on my final choice.

If you are looking for second placers, the m400 looks like a good race for that. My guess is that Rooney and Wissman have a very good chance at placing at least third.

I just noticed that myself. Wissman is a very likely 3d-placer, at least, even though I'd prefer not aiming that low.
