Pitkämäki in the lead after 2 rounds with 85.32 (and also has the second best throw). Thorkildsen seems to have no soul in it... so far anyway.

"My" captain Thorkildsen cancels his competition after 2 throws

Thorkildsen has quit the competition after 2 throws?! - probably because of some injury, which would explain the lack of soul behind his throws.

Good thing Pitkam is my Captain, but then so is Vlasic (anybody else got her? ops: )

Pitkämäki took it home despite a good fifth throw by Kovals. Three Latvians in the top 5!

Question, just curious. When Pitka and Thorkil talk to each other is it in English?

Yes, I think so, every interview I have seen Pitka do for Swedish or Norweigan TV has been in english.

Thorkildsen apparently has a (hopefully) minor groin injury... Pitkämäki wasn't 100% healthy either, having caught a cold.

You are right, groin pain for Thorkildsen throughout the meet. Did not want to push it. Don't know the extent of it.
