Women's 1500 the first track event. You will not believe their jogging pace of the first lap. The timing people were too embarrassed to stop the clock after one lap, which was 1:35!

Immediately, the six women picked up the pace and got to the 800 in 2:43. It was almost as if done on cue.

The wind's blowing exactly the wrong way - all the sprints get a headwind, and discus gets a tailwind....

The pole vaulters did get the wind they needed. But the long jumps should have been reversed. The was only a single attempt all day, in both women's and men's competitions, that had a tail wind.

PS -- The USA not only had a team, it had the winning team!
