Was the meet (listed in TFN's pre season schedule) held? If so, is there a link to the results? I assume that nothing too startling happened, else twould have showed up. There doesn't seem to be a results link for the Moskva 6 June meeting, but the IAAF site had a story, and the results given were not that sterling.

Gerd Kanter threw 69.91 to beat both Tammert and Israel by ~7m; that was the only really top level mark. Also, this meet was the last leg of what appears to have been some sort of Estonian five-meet "Golden League", the jackpot of which (100 000 Estonian kroons) was won by 110m hurdler Rene Oruman.

I assume that Jaann Uudmae is Jaak's son. I'm sure this has been discussed before. If so, he was born just after dad's OG win (thank you, Soviet officials  )

went to this meet after the helsinki...2005 worlds...
you see a lot of 2nd line talent, but in the throws it was quite good...
real old stadium, a decent high school equivalent...
good crowd when i was there, almost filled...maybe couple thousand or so

Jaanus Uudmäe is Jaak's son, yes. He came quite close this summer to becoming a second-generation Olympian, exceeding the triple jump B standard with a 17.00 mark but unfortunately with a +2.3m/s tailwind. It was his victory here that robbed this year's long jump find Tõnis Sahk from his part of the league jackpot.
