    i'm pleased over all

4 wins, 1 2nd but my captains were AWOL

Blanka won, Jeremy 2nd Irving and Isi weren't there

just have to wait and see where i end up, i had vision of top 10 at one point but after missing a meet and other people stepping up in the last few meets i'd be V happy with top 30
    i deserve extra credit

Hey mump you are the highest finisher in our group who hasn't let the rest of us see the awesomeness of your picks. Any plans to do that? I find it interesting to see what lead to the leading scores (although some of it is quite obvious).

Generally, I did brilliantly with my picks for each meet but my captains let me down. I was stupid enough to pick both Saladino AND Kallur and that was my downfall! I didn't choose the likes of Robles and Isinbayeva for the simple fact they didn't compete in GL events...

I enjoyed this competition but I just think there were too many meets to pick for which equals more chances of a player forgetting to pick for a meet and I just found my enthusiasm waned a bit towards the end but I'd definitely play again, but I think one or two slight adaptations need to be made.

I was personally shocked when I saw how many people had Kallur as a captain. It must be partially a perception of the value of indoors. Personally for predicting outdoor results (with the possible exception of the jumps) I consider using indoor results almost useless.

Actually I picked Kallur for her consistency last season. I thought she would attend most meets and good for at least a place each time. That was the theory anyway. She started off well......

I went back and looked at Kallurs 2007 grand prix results and must say I was surprised how good they were. Three 1st's in Stockholm, Brussels and Istaf, 3 2nds in Bislett, Paris, and Lausanne and a third in Rome. On second thought maybe I should not have been so shocked.

I had both Saladino and Kallur as well. I wish there had been a way of transferring at least one captain to keep the interest up among those of us who gave up hope on one or more them. I agree that there were perhaps a couple of meets too many, but it could just be the effect of anticlimax after Beijing. With WC in Berlin and everone hanging around the same continent, it should hold more continuity.

What's the point of running this comp if they are going to take days to produce the results?? Surely it could/should be automated...

you can see them now and there's nothing 'awesome' about them

i think all the high scoreres had good captains which i think is a major flaw. aoart from Saladino my captians were very consistant and ever threw a WR in for extra points. if they do one next year there has to be a way of changing captians or maybe pick 5 and the best 4 score or something. at the mo if one of the captiains gets injured early in the season you may as well give up as there is no way of making up those points.

i'd also like to be able to pick someone again if they no show.
                    i deserve extra credit

I am actually interested to see who the best picker for the 12 meets (without counting captains) actually was. That would be an interesting tidbit to know. They should give that person a prize.
