I'm almost certain everyone has come into contact with Lewis' interview with CNNSi. Having read these comments coming from no less influencial character than lewis, I do believe it was rather irresponsible given Lewis' esteem within the sport of T&F. The man is actually seen as one of the ambassadors of the sport and athlethism in general. So I think he's not allowed to cast doubt about any other track star based on his intuitions. He, although entitled to his personal opinion also has a responsibility to subdue them and keep them tempered.
Carl has also shown him self as miserable retired star with major diva issues and BAD MIND. He contradicted himself in is views of Bolt's uncertain slate by questioning Bolt's move from 10.03 to 9.69 in a year. This is so since he downed any examination of world records and in essence comparison of times recorded. This indicates that he sees it better suited to compare improvement in performance and technique (this in my opinion should also be reviewed in looking at bolt's improvement).
Carl has also spread himself thin by questioning Ja's testing programme. He being an athlete from the rampant untamed PED era when tests were not as developed and informed as they are now. This then means he invites questions about even his own credibility. He was just unfair to Bolt, who despite the country's programme had been tested frequently out of competition as much as any other US or other worldclass athlete.
