  • Pedro's Cup, Szczecin, 17 September

Startlists and live results on http://forsport.info/

    Some expected highlights:
    Men's 100: Powell
    Men's 800: Bungei
Men's SP: Majewski, Catnwell, Hoffa, Lyzhyn
    Women's DT: Alekna, Malachowski
Women's PV: Feofanova, Pyrek, Murer, Golubchikova
    Women's 400H: Walker, Jesien
    Women's 100H: Harper, Cherry
Men's HJ: Mason, Tereshin, Janku, Nieto, Krymarenko, Bieniek
    Women's 1500: Tobias, Lishchynska, Dobriskey

Alas, the conditions in Poland right now are even worse than it was in Stuttgart, so it's hard to expect many top-class results.

I was going to ask

    Still a solid field though.

Well, it's not actually as bad as I feared. It's cold, but at least not raining, and the sprinters are getting a nice tailwind.

Dawn Harper just won the 100H with 12.75 (+1.4). Aurelia Trywianska was second (12.93), just ahead of Damu Cherry (12.96).

Alekna was a DNS. Piotr Malachowski is leading after 3 rounds with 65.88.

Monika Pyrek is looking good. She just had a first-time clearance at 4.60 with plenty to spare.

Zoltan Kovago had a great finish in the DT competition, taking the lead with 67.66 in the fifth round, and backing it up with 67.06 in the sixth.

Monika Pyrek won the PV with her first-time clearance at 4.60 and did not take any more attempts. Golubchikova was second, also with 4.60, Feofanova third with 4.50. Joanna Piwowarska also cleared 4.50 (SB).

Christian Cantwell is leading after 2 rounds of SP with 20.78. Hoffa second (20.49), Majewski third so far (20.48).

Petr Svoboda beat Artur Noga in the high hurdles, but I don't know the winning time.

            Svoboda won in 13.32.

Another solid performance by Melaine Walker to end the season, 54.55. Did she even lose a single race this year ?

              Svoboda ran 13.38, Noga 13.44.

Melaine Walker was an easy winner in the 400H with 54.55, 1.5 seconds ahead of Anna Jesien.

Cantwell and Hoffa both improved in the third round, to 20.92 and 20.83, respectively, to move further ahead of Majewski. The Olympic champion had a putt close to 21 meters in the second round - he seemed to be surprised it was called a foul. Andrey Mikhnevich is doing very poorly, way down in fifth place with 19.28.

Michal Bieniek cleared 2.30 in the HJ. Germaine Mason is the only other jumper left in the competition, and he has 2 failures.

That's what the on-screen clock showed, but for some reason it's been way off in all races today. This time the difference was 0.06.

I think she only lost one early-season race to Huang.

Looks like he was allowed it in the end - the results site shows a 20.90m throw in round six, moving him up to second place.

Majewski just fell short in the last round with 20.90 and finished in second place, 2cm behind Cantwell.

Lishchynska won the 1500 in 4:10. Dobriskey marginally overtook Sylwia Ejdys in the final meters to take second. Beijing medalist Natalya Tobias was only fifth.

Asafa 9.89 unofficially! He looked like he was determined to run fast today, pushing hard until the end.

Using pela2's alltime-athletics site, that makes it 9 sub9.90's for Powell this year (Bolt has 8). Is 9 the record for most sub9.90's in a season?
