She lost her first GP race in Sydney in Februrary, but after that, 12 straight wins. Fantastic season for her. Now if she could just fix that hurdle technique!

I know you're the TOE, and it's not my native language, but I've heard the word being used in T&F context many times, e.g. from the British Eurosport commentators. The event is called the shot put, but they call a throw a putt. Maybe it's one of those British-American things?

Camera was working fine (Eurosport). Just happened to be focussed on starter as he pulled the trigger. Then it slowly panned to show--"9.89"--on the results board. Not a millisecond of the race shown live. Is that a first?
Well, a camera was working, but not the right one who would cover the race. I don't understand why they couldn't switch to the right spot immediately, there was a lot of time inbetween the malfunction and start of the race.

I have no idea why that happened. The race was shown live on TVP, and the pictures were just fine :?

Nobody outside of Poland, perhaps, but it could be seen on Polish TV

Using pela2's alltime-athletics site, that makes it 9 sub9.90's for Powell this year (Bolt has 8). Is 9 the record for most sub9.90's in a season?

Majewski just fell short in the last round with 20.90 and finished in second place, 2cm behind Cantwell.

Lishchynska won the 1500 in 4:10. Dobriskey marginally overtook Sylwia Ejdys in the final meters to take second. Beijing medalist Natalya Tobias was only fifth.
