Those quotes by reporters on the front page - a little over the top?

Looks fine to me. Who else was he going to have in the quotes? Those two were in a different area code than the rest of the world.

I was just suprised that there would be 5-6 quotes about him beating - no hammering JW - while haveing three videos of him beating JW above. I guess I was used to JW 's site - never saw on their just a one line qoutes plastered on the front page while a video of him beating his rivals. Just an impression.

JW was The Man, period. For LM to beat him required several fortuitous happenstances, not the least of which was Great Talent and tons'o'work! For LM to win the OT, the OG and rank #1 after all JW has done, IS monumental, so he can put anything on his site he wants!!

Yes, I agree - I like LM and JW - I am not suggesting WHAT he should have put on there but that seemed a little preoccupied with JW and a little arrogant. It is one thing to point out you beat your rival it is another to put it in your face with hyperbolistique quote after quote during a race in which you beat your rival, as if that were your only focus of the entire season - which it obviously was. It is as if it was more important to beat JW and his take his glory than actually become Champion - I mean without JW he might not have had the motivation to do what it takes. It is as if he wanted to swap the fame of JW more than just being a Champion??? But I am just reading into it too much, maybe.

I have to say I sort of agree with you here. If it was a couple of quotes, fine. But every quote referred to JW. I would think that the focus of the site would be on how LM is the best quarter miler in the world right now, or that he's Olympic Champion, etc. Nothing wrong with focusing on his rivalry with JW, but the emphasis takes the focus away from Merritt a little.

Did Merritt put together the site, or was it done for him? Obviously, he:s at least tacitly agreed with the contents on the front page.

The end of the 2007 season was about Merritt chasing Wariner, whom he stated he could have defeated in Osaka had Merritt not made a couple of tactical mistakes. Some of you here doubted Merritt and felt he was too full of himself. He:s proven on a few occasions - all at the right times - that he:s the better man this season against the best in the world, namely Jeremy Wariner. USA OT; OG; WAF.

This season has only been about Wariner-Merritt, and I:ve also been zoned in on the two, leaving everyone else out there to fend for themselves:
