      Your presumption is spot on

Women's side of equation now in place... Olympic champ Dita vs Benita Johnson:

this distance produced one of geb's most surprising ever losses

back in '01, he got thumped by felix limo in 41'29 ( wr ) to his 41'38

          http://www.alltime-athletics.com/m15kroad.htm

he got the wr back in '05 with 41'22 en-route to a 10 mile wr in 44'24

limo never really had much more than a coupla years at the top around '04 - '06 - he was a guy with 2"04 potential, but now seems on the fizzle

Neither of these stories indicate who he's headed to...

I thought his pining for Geelong might mean he's heading back to Bruce Scriven, but this story busts that rumour:

Rumour on Runnerstribe is that Mr.Ovett may have stepped up to the plate!!

Suppose Ovett might be a chance if Buster really is gonna concentrate on 1500s next season, but Imight be better to have someone with him rather than interstate. Maybe it's gonna be self-coached with 'advice' from Ovett. I just hope he gives all the usual road races a miss for once and runs more on the track.

Luke Kibet (reigning Marathon WC), plus steeplechasers Weidlinger and Abdi have been added to Men's field:

Geb looked as dominant and graceful as ever as he ran past me (spectating) twice this morning:

Racing in perfect conditions amongst 4000 pavement pounders, Gebrselassie completed the 15km course in 42 mins and 40 seconds, more than 34 seconds ahead of Kenya’s two-time world half marathon silver medallist Patrick Makau (43:15) and Australian 5,000m Olympic representative Collis Birmingham (43:35).

In the women’s race, Ndereba showed the field a clean pair of heals as she cruised to an easy victory in 50 mins 43 seconds, more than 400m clear of New Zealand’s Alice Mason (51:27) and Australian Olympic marathon representative Lisa Weightman (51:31).
                            Mottram faded to 4th...

Top 20s here (with some mistakes in women's):
                            http://www.athletics.com.au/fanzone/380/8184

                            Geb 81 secs outside WB...

that is very impressive run by geb (even though the time is slow for him) in that he beat 58:56 half marathoner patrick kamau by 35 seconds in a 15k, makau has run 6 half marathons under an hour including 2 this year, that geb can basically run away from him in a 15k makes the dubai marathon record attempt on january 16th very very interesting.
