Toomey smokin'

Jen Toomey was VERY impressive in the 800 against Teter -- totally took control and sped away, finishing in around 2:00. Looks extremely fit, performance and appearance. Does America have a new middle-D sweetie?

actually, Toomey is 32, so she is two years older than Ms. Teter - but she didn't start running seriously until she was 26

Her husband is her training partner. Sounds like a great deal to me. For what its worth, having trained at Reggie at the same time as Ms. Toomey, I can say she has the best core strength (abs & lower back) I've ever seen, which enables her to run VERY efficiently.

stupid question but I will ask it anyway; is she related to Bill Toomey, 1968 OG Decathlon champ ? Daughter by any chance ? Age would be about right.

Toomey is her married name, so if she's related (which would be news to me), it would be by marriage.

Steve, I wondered the same a few weeks ago when I saw her name in the results T&FN send. She's definately not his daughter, not sure if she's related in any other way (doubtful as we would have heard...probably from Rawson). I was actually thinking she may be the product of the Toomey/Rand marriage.

I found his website...guess what he does now? Sells supplements (no-one go there lol)

I'd agree Toomey looked very sharp in Boston, almost like Tieter did two years ago indoors.

July is 5 months away, a lot of training and racing prior to the trials.

Interesting to see if Tieter is fully healthy in July and how much progrees Toomey will make.
