Most likely they already have had contact with any kid they have an interest in who was at FL...not really a need to scout/recruit there.

With FL taking place the day before the European XC meet, I was surprised how many US college coaches were in Brussels recruiting.

Pretty good from Hatti Dean I thought. Still, a silver medal for the team can't be bad. Kibet did look good but Samitova really didn't look like she was having fun!

Is that team medals in every age group and gender so far?
Somehow I don't thihkn Samitova will be running many more XC races

    That's right
    -Women's junior team gold
    -Men's junior team bronze
    -Women's u23 team gold
    -Men's u23 team gold
    -Women's team silver

I thought Hayley Yelling wasn't very good today - she was 2nd in the trials and I thought she would enjoy this course because it's a test of strength but she was only 19th and I thought she would be in the top five or six.

Good to see Dean running well. Normally she's a slow starter to the year so hopefully come the track season, she can challenge the British steeplechase record.

PS I knew Kuijken reminded me of someone! She looks like a blonde Alanis Morrisette!

Kibet won that pretty easily, defeating Augusto and Monteiro.

The British team performance was solid, but not our best.

    U23 Men

    1. Lalli ITA
    2. Vernon GBR
    3. Bayrak TUR

Very happy that Andy Vernon beat a 27:29 guy for the silver medal, although I'm not sure the Ethiopian, sorry Turkish guy was in that kind of form. GB definitely got the team gold as well!

Well, those FSU folks on here can celebrate a gold medal. Hannah England didn't have too bad a run really either.

What a shame for Morag McClarty - but it seemed she almost went sideways during the sprint down the home straight.

I didn't think we had individual medal chances, but I thought we had a chance at a team medal. I would've thought Haydar and/or a Russian/Frenchwoman, Bobocel and Kuijken would carry off the individual medals.

Kuijken wins the under-23 race. Bobocel was down in sixth or seven place.

Great performance by Tunstall in second but what a shame for McLarty, who was just pipped on the line by the Russian for fourth.

Britain silver and bronze in the under-23 race. I don't really understand why Crammy was saying that we didn't have any individual chances - it's always looked a strong team to me :?

    Kuijken is dominating this one.

They actually had four others in the top 25. I guess the Brits faded a bit in the final 1km. Still, a bronze is better than fourth but Forrester didn't look too happy.

I still don't understand how Norway managed to snatch the silver. There weren't that many Norwegians up in the lead! We missed the U20 team gold by 2 points! Still, I I didn't actually expect us to get a team medal. I'm disappointed for Dave Forrester, but Chahdi was too strong.
