i would like to know what we are going to see on television and how we can get VHS or DVD after the games as i"NEED TO KNOW"

Can't speak for the US, but CBC has been good in the past at showing extensive track coverage during the Olympics. Depending on the time zone the games are in, they will have several hours of live coverage and then several additional prime time hours either repeating what was shown at odd hours or stuff that didn't make it to air the first time through.

Hey - if you want to see track and field covered in an unbiased, thorough manner- CBC is the ONLY way to go. As Canadians, we have not been as successful as our neighbors south of the border BUT we know how to cover this sport. Having a World Champion in Perdita and a bronze medallist like Boswell in HJ is gravy. Regardless of how we are doing, we broadcast all the meet, not just our country's competitors. Being Canadian means appreciating what you have as well as what the world has to offer. We are able to see the forest and the trees. I am not bashing the US as much as pointing out the obvious in our perspective of sport. if you want to watch it best- watch the CBC!

Even though I am now a citizen of the US, I agree that Canada does a much better job of covering the Olympics than the US. I will go back to my roots and go to Canada giving me a choice of coverages each day since I will be staying near Detroit. I used to go to the Olympics as a spectator but it became too political and far too crowded. I now go to World Championships with Track and Field News Tours and enjoy the trips immensely.
