Im looking forward to seeing some new NCAA faces.

Yes, Jelimo will be making her indoor debut, running the mile in Birmingham and attempting to break Mutola's 1000m WR in Prague, although it will be strange seeing an indoor season without Mutola running

Dibaba and Defar have also signed up to compete in a few meetings.

Plus the European Indoors in Turin - Sotherton, Howe, Di Martino and Vlasic have all confirmed their participation.

Also in Birmingham is the Sotherton v. Dobrynska head-to-head. Dobriskey (3000m) and Meadows (800m) have also expressed an interest in competing at the Euro Indoors too.

Does anyone plan to go to the European Indoors in Turin? I'm pretty sure I am going - I've got so many good memories from the 2007 Europeans from Birmingham and I want to go back again.

          Deffo going.

Skipped in 2002 as thought it would be a bit shit then Steffi and Jolanda had their epic 800m race and we missed it :-(

          Never again.

Aussie Olympic medallists Sally McLellan and Steve Hooker will be competing indoors in the US.

McLellan opened up her 2009 season with (outdoor) 60m and 60H wins in Brisbane on Friday night; 7.49 and 8.29 respectively.

                  soby's 1500wr is 3'58.28

                  doina's mile wr is 4'17.14 which with standard 1.08 conversion = 3'58.10 !

the mile wr is better than the 1500wr despite latter distance run much more often

burka woud have an easier shot at breaking the 1500wr rather than the mile & logically shoud attempt this 1st

With .18 between the 1500m WR and converted mile, you're really going to say that one is easier/better? Seems like 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of another.

                      true

but even 0.18s advantage is significant at these rarified levels

I was going to set up a separate thread for this, but it may be easier to keep all news, results, start-lists, etc from this indoor season in one thread. Basically, I was just hoping if anyone knew any of the official meet websites of the various Grand Prix taking place, where startlists, results, etc could be accessed, could they post them here? It's just that it's sometimes hard to find some of the smaller meets' websites even though they do exist.

Here are a couple of websites of meets that are approaching within the next month:

I don't think I agree - Melinte ran many more indoor mile races because she predominantly competed on the US Indoor circuit throughout her career. Just a random piece of trivia, the clock incorrectly stopped at 4:15 in that race too!

On the front page, Evora plans to compete at the Euro Indoors and I would guess Naide Gomes will try and win her third crown. Hopefully Idowu will also be there to challenge Evora.

Golubchikova becomes the early season wPV leader with a 4.70m hop in Moscow.
