That's a nice litte write-up and terrific accompanying video.
After years of cajoling my brother to make the trip to the event, we finally got there. It was great! A true cultural event. I tried my best to see every vault, but try as I might I just couldn't do it, though I think I saw the vast majority. The last time I saw Paul Heglar he was jumping 16' 4" in high school. Though he didn't approach that in the Masters competition, he surely does yoeman's duty as one of the group that manage the organization, logistics, and grunt work of making it all happen and is to be commended along with so many others.
One highlight for me was meeting and getting a chance to talk a bit with Scott Roth as we waited to board the plane back to Seattle. Though he wasn't there to jump, he said that the injury that has sidelined him for the past year was finally responding to therapy and he's opptomistic about getting back into the fray. I wish him well. He seems like a really nice kid.
PS - The article didn't mention that it was REALLY cold in Reno by the end of Saturday's doings. I should've brought a jacket, or at least worn long sleeves!
