Does anyone know anything about a 17 year old english ranked middle distance runner called Tom Farrell or where i could find out some details about him i.e. results/achievements etc? A friend of mine works for a bookmakers and has been asked about his chances for a medal at the London olympics.

I find an 8:39 3k race from last summer.

A nice mark for a 17 year old, but light years away from olympic calibre.

You could try http://www.athleticsdata.com/ which has most British results. But Farrell would not be my first choice to lay a bet on for 2012.

He recently finished third in the junior men's race at the Seville International XC. His compatriot Simon Horsfield was the winner, although it wasn't exactly a stellar field.
