  • Wayne Davis 7.05 55mH HSR

The senior from Southeast HS in Raleigh NC just ran it at the state meet. It breaks his HSR from last year run en route to his =HSR 60mH mark of 7.62.

While realizing that HS phenoms do not always transition well to the 42-inchers, this kid is consistent and appears to be the real deal.

I am in total agreement that the kid seems to be the real deal...he should do well at A&M under the tutelage of Pat Henry and Vince Anderson.

Great kid. Ran in an "Open" 60 HH (42") at UNC the day before the State Meet. Came in 2nd. 7.92

I was there and very surprised to see him running at that meet with the state meet the next day.

And how good is 7.92? The current NCAA Div. I qualifiers list goes to 7.91, 27 deep.... so if he were a collegian, he's already close to the top two dozen in the country. Methinks he'll be adapting to the taller sticks just fine!
