I'm happy he broke the Russian record which makes him higher indoors than Paklin, Avdeyenko, Voronin and others. The question is, what is he capable of doing at the European Indoor Champs? He would need a 2.43m to break the ER, but the american in me says just put it up to 2.44m (8') same as today. Apparently, his recent 2.27m was an anomaly. If you're ever walking down the beach and you see a girl dressed in a bikini made out of seashells, and you pick her up and hold her to your ear, you can hear her scream.

From what I understand he took only one jump at 2.44.
It seems he went from 2.32 to 2.38 where he he had a hairline miss in the first attempt. It's unclear if he took a second attempt or went right to 2.40. Had first attempt clearance at 2.40. Light touch of the bar.
Nobody else cleared 2.32. Shustov only other jumper over 2.30.
