Well, as long as we're giving ourselves the long picture, I propose the following:

    2009 - 5.08
    2010 - 5.11
    2011 - 5.14
    2012 - 5.16
    2013 - 5.18 (17'!)

    Seems eminently doable!

Wow!, 91 years to get that last two cm.
No matter what anyone else does, she will surely be the Masters champion.

In "2103", someone may hit the 5.30m Isinbaeva feels she, herself, can reach if she stays healthy:

She said she chose 2013 because it is the year Moscow will hold the world athletics championships. She said she expects to compete at this summer's world championships in Berlin and the 2012 London Olympics.

There's a great feeling when you know the end is near: you can give your all and leave knowing you left no stones unturned. She's set for a very long time financially, now it's off to the races (or the heights) professionally for a few more seasons.

I think she'll start pushing that 5.10m envelop already this season.

With her new multi-million dollar a year contract, does anyone think she will no longer jump for the prize money? I mean do you think the days of 1cm increases to the WR's will be over? Since 50K is chump change to her now. Hopefully, we will see how high she can really go.

It's not surprising that she has moved back her retirement by one-year - she will finish her career with a gold medal at the World Champs in Moscow.

I predict her 2013 retirement will last as long as Jay Leno's.

Consider the new sponsor - every time there is big coverage of Isi they win -- Think multiple WRs. Different incentive particulars, similar outcomes.

                      She will be missed.

Alongside Lebedeva the only russian clean athlete nowadays.

                      Maybe silnov and that's it.

She's always made it clear she wants to break Bubka's record for the most records.

According to yesterday's Life magasine (Russian version): Isinbaeva is going to be featured in a documentary on 7-march (Perviy Kanal) where she reveals certain "secrets", including what she whispered into President Putin's ear during a gala this winter, her love for guy and her adoration of being photographed - among others.

Isinbayeva could, at the 2012 Olympic Games, informally visit and talk to the first-time Olympians in the pole vault, both men and women. It should be a thrill to them to meet a superstar of track and field.
