  • Euro Indoors Friday

As E Pelle said the other topic was already up at 53 posts before the competition.
But I feel brancing every event in to one topic makes it a bit hard to get a grip of. Suggestion therefore is one thread/day...any complaints?

If not let the competitions begin!

What's on tap for today as far as must-see (read) events?

I'd say the two hurldes finals is going to wide open and therefore fun to watch! After having seen Berings blast 8,00 in the heats she's the favourite for me now...perhaps O rourke can challenge?

If you're watching now perhaps the Q-jump by Teddy Tamgho could be a highligt!?

The round of the 400m is always fun indoors, our swedish hope Wissman has been drawn on lane 1 in the heats. Will have to waste a bit more strength already in the heats.

The pentathlon feels weak, but perhaps it's just that one particular gold-medal hope is abscent in the event which makes it less intersting for us swedes...

        ..
A bit confused about this when watching the heats on http://tinyurl.com/b5v9es. At first sight Wissman looks to be drawn at lane 6. But scrolling down he has a start 1 infront of his name...anyone get this?

3 NR in the LJ Q. Very good quality in relation to the participants capacity!

6,51 for final and almost only "unknown" jumpers in the top 8.
More experienced jumpers as Karin Melis Mey and Veldakova missed out of the final. Veldakova had a very long fouljump in the 2nd jump tough.

Other Estonian jumpers are doing equally well - qualification-winning 6.75 NR for Balta (in a must-perform situation no less), and 6.66 PB for Kivine.

Am very happy as Sarah Claxton just won her w60mH semi equalling her NR of 7.96 which is fantastic!

              8-)

Nytra would have been even better if she hadn't lost her rhythm just before the end. Now Hildebrand qualifies in the weaker semi while Nytra misses a possible medal .

Having never managed to convert her form through the major champs before, she's oddly turning into a major championship performer- average heat, good semi and through to the final- she did the same thing in the Olympics...

Hope she can do better in the final than she did there...

Why would Scott be DQ'd? (Amongst all the others). Hang on, that's 3 of the first 4 DQ'd!???

Meadows wins the first round of the w800 fairly easily. Savinova of Russia looks good but took it very easy I thought.

Edit: Darien and Scott have been reinstated according to the last look at the results site but Borisov still DQ. I did see him virtually knock the last hurdle{?} to one side almost with his lead leg so it could have something to do with that.

Looks just like a case of something wrong with the online results.

"Never attribute to a mystery anything that can be explained by incompetence."

But while Darien and Scott have been reinstated in the online results, Borisov still remains DQ'd...

Barisov DQ in the semis! Anyone heard why?

Tamgho material moved into its own thread. Without some splitting off of events this thread will quickly become unreadable.
