I agree, it was full of drama - although I'm just miffed that Zbrozhek didn't defend because she was capable of doing so - I had £12 on her at 8/1 but it was a free bet so I didn't lose anything :?

i just saw maz outside the stadium having a one to one with charles :?

then saw her while we eating dinner, she just said she got over excited coz he wanted to win but none of them will beat her outdoors

to be fair she was rubbish but compared to every other uk middle distance runner (apart from mo) who went to the back and stayed there she had genius tactics
      i deserve extra credit

Agreed, what a race. Okoro must have thought she is Jelimo or something, that was a crazy first half by her.

I thought Nick McCormick ran well and to form. He was in 4th place with the leaders for 2/3 of the race. And Mark Draper did the race that was expected of him by the management!

I don't know what happened to Neil Speaight though. He did at least start off near the front but should never have fallen off the pace like he did.

From the sounds of it though Neil Spaeight didn't sound like he really had prepared for the indoor season that well, and from the sounds of the interview afterwards it wouldn't surprise me if he did retire before the summer season.

Safe to say i don't think Okoro will do that again, and im sure that she is on course to run some super times outdoors this summer.

I think, obviously, Okoro was naive but I'd rather they did that than what most of the middle distance athletes do- give it a goddamn go!

Had she been a bit more controlled, just a second or so slower at 400m, it might have been quite different.

I actually thought the W800 was a lousy race. It was so obvious that Okoro was using horrendous tactics and would crash and burn. I found Mo's 3000 win much more exciting--because there is much more suspense in seeing if someone can really maintain a perfectly even breakneck pace--and he was suffering at the end!
