One longtime USATF follower's reaction after this weekend's Board meeting (I can't state whether or not the facts are spot-on):
<<Well they have done it again. In picking the four officers for USATF (actually the Chair of the Board & other three officers), they picked Darlene Hickman as Secretary. She is not a member of the Board,
which is permissible. However, she is not eligible because she was chair and still is of the permanent Nominating & Governance Panel that picked 9 of the Board members!
This is a clear conflict of interest and a violation of the USATF Ethics Guidelines. I guess it was a reward for her helping pick them. She was nominated by Evie Dennis, a person she picked for the board! Just amazing.
In another conflict of interest, Anne Timmons, also on the NGP, is named a Board committee chair. She helped select Evie Dennis to the Board and didn't recuse herself even though Evie is the godmother of her
children!
.....Members of the NGP are accepting positions in the structure in the Board from Board members they appointed.>>
