Betters got tangled up at about 210m, went off to the infield, then back on track. Obviously all steam was lost.

And Betters has been advanced to the final by the games committee.

with a lane it will be almost impossible to score from?

(if he's advanced, is somebody DQed? Have never understood how you can have something so bad happen to you that you get a free pass and somebody else doesn't have to pay---but it doesn't always work out that way)

                        Arnett was DQed.

The lanes here are all 200m

The questionable aspect of the Betters advancement is that he never was ahead of Masheto, who led all the way and was not fast enough to advance.

whoa! that last post represents a breakthrough (or a slip by the Games Committee); NCAA has always been very adamant that DQ times don't get shown. But perhaps since this took so long, and it was already in the public view it didn't bother them.

Betters will run lane 2 in slower of the two final sections.
