Would be nice to see Barringer and Willard competitive on the world stage this summer and run in the 9:00 to 9:15 range. Willard would be better in tactical/kick races but Barringer's pace pushing could keep her in a fast race.

How fast will Willard and Barringer run in steeple in 2009?

For what it's worth, Barringer (8:42.03) is now equal to WR holder Samitova (8:41.72) on the flat.
On the other hand, the Russian is 10 seconds faster in the 1500 and half a minute faster in the 5000, although Barringer in current form could be expected to easily lower both of those.

...en-route
her likely 3k flat ability off 4'01 ( albeit in '04, but a 4'20 mile in '07 is likely even better ) & a 14'33 are -> ~ 8'26 potential
it's no wonder she is the proverbial mile ahead of everyone else with that possible flat speed

If you compare Barringer's times to Volkova's (#2 steeplechaser), she has a similar spread (1500, Mile, 3000, 5000):
9:06.57 - Volkova - 4:09.03 - 4:29.60 - 8:45.09 - 15:00.02
9:22.26 - Barringer - 4:11.36 - 4:25.91i - 8:42.03i - 15:01.70i
It should be noted that most of Volkova's marks were run a few years before her steeple PR (before she changed over), so she probably can run faster now.
Also telling is how Barringer compares to the 14 other women ahead of her on the alltime list: she has the sixth fastest 1500m PR, third fastest 3000, and fourth fastest 5000. I have to second the posters above - sub9:15 seems very realistic for this year.

jenny looks a little more interesting as she does have a very quick indoor mile at 4'25i ( i'd knock 2 - 3s off that for an outdoor equivalent ) & her 8'42i off a pedestrian 2k shouda been nearer 8'35i & you can knock 1/2 dozen secs off that for outdoors
so she's probably worth a 4'22 outdoors which gives her ~ 4'02 ability for 1500 off 1.08 conversion
she certainly coud make team for 1500 with that
