Junior women's race about to get underway.

BBC commentators said that it's colder in Amman than it was in Edinburgh last yr!

I thought it was meant to be a cross-country race! They are running on a a dirt-track!

Who OK'd the course??? It's like a building site. There's one poor girl running barefoot

It's also ridiculously narrow with extremely tight corners. It's gonna be carnage during the men's race.

That's what I thought! Plus the start is on a camber which makes it difficult.

Good to see the Brits doing quite well - Howarth is top-10 I think and Purdue coming through - hope we can get the team bronze.

Five Brits in the top-30 so far.

Genzebe Dibaba built up quite a big lead over Cherono of about 15-20m but she's now been closed down and it should be a good race.

The track is indeed more of a dirt track than anything else. It's bordering on a road race.

The camera crew are also off to a rocky start.

            Looks like Cherono vs. Diababa.

The poor Jordanian athletes were dropping off the back from about two minutes in!

I don't believe it's colder either in Amman!

What a strange race! Dibaba wins the title with Chebii and Chepngeno 2nd and 3rd.

And now it turns into a fell run.

It's one thing being up hill at the end but that was a mountain.

                    this is ridic !!!

On the IAAF website, they've listed it as a road event on the live results!

The British junior women take five of the top six European spots, almost matching their 1-2-3-4-5-6 finish from the European Cross (when the team was stronger with Twell and Pallant still juniors).

just a sidenote the 5th place finisher in the junior mens race has a dob of june 30th 1993 which would make him 15 years old and still a junior in 2012.
