  • Wyatt????

In Mt. Sac results, it appears that HSer Reggie Wyatt ran in the open mens' 400m. My understanding was that a HSer could not run in an open event in a meet that had a H.S. section that offered that same event. Anyone have any info?? I know that this is/was why Hasay could not run there last year and no preps have run in open events since Felix ran........

People are forever posting about how it is illegal for HS kids to run in some races. Apparently all of those worries are for naught; I suspect that the folks who put on the meet know what they are doing.

He ran a 46.38. I think that's a PR, not bad for a guy whose main event is the hurdles.

Only his third 400m dash this season. He opened with a 47,68 followed by a 46,67/36,59 double ca 20 minutes apart. His grade-10 season, however, he did run the 400m/300mh double through CIF Southern Section divions finals.

After state, the USC-bound phenom might take two more stabs at the hurdles record if it still eludes him, with those bids possibly coming at the Golden West Invitational in Northern California and the Great Southwest Classic in New Mexico. Then he aims to focus on the open 400 at Nike Outdoor Nationals in North Carolina, looking for a time of at least the high 45s.
Will likely double up with the 400m through CIF SS and run long relay as well.

The difference here is that Miss Murphy does not compete for her high school team and thus is not bound by any CIF regulations (note she was also representing a running club).
