  • Four men over 50 run 4x1 at Penn in 44.47

It's a world-age group record, of course. That's faster than dozens of high school boys teams at Penn!

3rd and 4th legs were rolling.

And they set record without being challenged.

    Old farts.

World record in the M55 4x4 as well, and the winning Houston Elite team even used a 61-year-old!

Clearly the most significant marks of this or any millenium.

A man at the Relays who is 77 also won the age group 75 100 meter race in 15 seconds.

I'll be lucky to break 18 at that age. But truth be told, it's a relatively slow M75 mark. The WR is 13.61 and the American record is 13.72 -- by Payton Jordan, R.I.P.

In 1997, a German lady named Paula Schneiderhan ran the 100 in 15.91. She was 75 at the time.

Xavier Carter almost split that fast in the 400 leg of the USA vs the world DMR.
