Powell is a pretty common name in Ja. Esp in St. Elizabeth. They could be related but most likely not.

There is a possibility. Isn't Asafa family from St. Catherine? Ricardo Powell was a student at Bridgeport High which is located in St. Catherine before he transfer to Calabar. Not to say , because he goes to Bridgeport High, he is from St. Catherine.
The sprint gene is strong in the Powell family, so from Donovan Powell to Asafa Powell. Possible Ricardo Powell, the sprint tradition seem to be continuing if he is infact related to them. 8-)

To the best of my knowledge, Asafa is the youngest of the six brothers, two of which are now deceased.

I don't think he is Asafa brother. Haven't hear any relationship to Asafa Powell. He used to attend Bridgport High, then transfer to Calabar high. If he his Asafa little brother, it's cool to see him carrying on the family tradition.
This same team ran 39.90 at the Jamaica Boys and Girls championship a couple weeks ago.
