Good eyes, guys! I'm a photo-historian and I didn't notice that! So much for the whole idea of being visually astute. I guess I'll take up plumbing or nuclear physics...
Hmmmm...can't say I've really focused (ha ha) on that aspect of photo-history before. The first thing that comes to mind is Elliott crossing the line in the '60 Olympic 1500, one arm out and head back. But there are zillions of other great shots that have been made. This could be an interesting thread on its own: our favorite all-time track photos....
