    Willie Gault = athletic stud.

This guy is an athletic marvel. I've often wondered how good he might have gotten had he stuck with track. I remember that SI article when he decided to choose football over the Olympics. The only other guy I hold in higher esteem (athletically) would be Nehemiah. Studs!

I guess this is noteworthy isn't it. Almost 50 years old and running a 10.8.

Looks like Marlow could have some competition in the high hurdles at the masters national champs.
But seriously, is this a WR?

Possibly for a 48 year-old. Willie already owns the 45-50 age record with his 10.72 from '06.

Willie works hard, but so do many other masters sprinters. I doubt he'll show up for nationals, though. He never does. (At Mt. SAC, I asked him about nationals and worlds, and he asked me: "Where are nationals this year?")

I chatted with Jon Littman, author of this column, for a half-hour on the phone about a week ago.

Jon's biggest revelation was Willie's recent marriage! :P
