Willie Gault = athletic stud.
This guy is an athletic marvel. I've often wondered how good he might have gotten had he stuck with track. I remember that SI article when he decided to choose football over the Olympics. The only other guy I hold in higher esteem (athletically) would be Nehemiah. Studs!

Willie works hard, but so do many other masters sprinters. I doubt he'll show up for nationals, though. He never does. (At Mt. SAC, I asked him about nationals and worlds, and he asked me: "Where are nationals this year?")
I chatted with Jon Littman, author of this column, for a half-hour on the phone about a week ago.
Jon's biggest revelation was Willie's recent marriage! :P
