Great race - any of the top three could have won. When the racing began Fernandez never looked like he was in it.
Looks like about 8.36-8.37 closer for the lead group; 8.38ish for Fernandez - following 1.800m of racing. Fernandez stated after his race (on Flotrack) that he can't hold all the American Junior records. I think he's understood that he won't win all of his races, either. A terrific run, nevertheless, for his first race outdoors. Even better result for Derrick, who was gunning to beat Fernandez.
