Expecting 90+ from Thorkildsen, apparently his training has been peachy.

No complaint about conditions. Thorkildsen had timing problems in his run-up, footwork was not good in his plant. Slow feet, they said.
He was somewhat disappointed considering several 86+ throws in recent training sessions.

                Thorkildsen's best Doha performance to-date has been his 90.13m WL/NR from 2006.

Sorry I'm late, still swallowing humble pie. Tastes horrid..

"I'm surprised about the distance. There was nothing n my form that indicated that I should throw so short and badly."

I'm obviously pleased with the win, and the answer to my problems is more competition."
(Answer to question "So you weren't scared of the competition tonight?")

"No, but I don't think they were so scared of me either".

Thanks to my brother for translation (he says hi, Epelle  ).
