Could this be her moving up or just early season endurance work? With the Russian issues of last year, this event has become more wide open and her potential at the 1500 could be interesting.

She's not new to this distance. She's run at least one 1500/mile race every year since 2004, with a PB of 4:08 (that was a split in the 1 mile at Rieti last year).

I knew she has run the 1500. I just don't remember if she did it this early in the season. So, I'm curious if she is trying something new or not?

And she has already run one earlier this year I'm sure, doing something like a 4:16. I remember reading it on the German DLV site.

Twell in about 4.10 or 4.11 or so midway in the pack, just didn't have the kick in the final 400m when it really got going.

What a mess of a race that was! Burka won (4:06.67 WL) with a 59.78 last lap.

There was a fall at the 400m point, not sure who went down though...

didnt Twell nab 4th? Or was that just a differnet white athlete in a generic Nike kit?

It was so bunched with 400m - 500m to go, so no super fast times were gona be posted by anyone. But Burka ran a monster final lap, noone could match it at all.....

Good to see though Twell put herself in the right position, on the shoulder of the pack coming into the final lap.
Clearly not in any sppedy shape right now, as has been doing distance work recently, ie - 5000m at the weekend.

                            Twell was 9th in 4:11.15.

Very impressed by the Sudanese runner who was third. I've never heard of her and I assumed she was the pace-setter before the race but Sudan have some good young talent emerging from all the middle-distance events and longer sprints.

Nice. It's an improvement on a given track three-consecutive years.
