She's supposedly just 17, and the only results Tilastopaja lists for her are from last year's WJ, where she only managed 2:13 and 4:26
    Było smaszno, a jaszmije smukwijne...

Yikes! Didn't one of the Sudanese girls make one of the finals in Bydgoszcz? I assume it was a different runner...

Although to still beat Jepkosgei, Melkamu and Lyshynska is not too bad for Twell.

Looks like Lishynska left her best in Beijing thats for sure...

nice 18 second improvement of her personal best by the 17 year old arbab, sudan last year had 2 good runners for the men (kaki and ismael) maybe arbab will be their first good female runner.

They already have Nawal El Jack, who was close to making the world final in 2005 at the age of 16, they also have a good 400m hurdler and a useful SC'er too.

Twell has neither opened her season this early nor run this fast in her career to-date. Her previous best season-opening mark was a 4.14,79 last year (Watford 14-june).

A unique record triple for Arbab? Not only did she get the Sudan Record, she also got the Sudan Junior Record and Sudan Youth Record!

Not that unique. She's not even the first Sudanese athlete to achieve such a feat! Nawal Al-Jack set a NR, NJR and NYR triple when she ran 51.19 to win the world youth 400m title in 2005. Mona Jabir Ahmed did likewise with the 200, 400 and 800 records in 2004, as did Abdulgadir Idriss with the national Sudanese 400H records in 2004/2005, and Sileh Tagir El Nour with the 100m record in 2007.

I've just realised Ehssan Arbab (the one who made the overnight 20sec 1500m improvement in this race last year), was given a 2y doping suspension within days of this race!
