  • quadruple for freshmen at florida high school meet.

impressive quadruple for freshmen at florida 3a state meet in florida.
robin reynolds of miami jackson had a nice quaduple tonight.
    100-11.56 (1.4wind)
    200-23-67 (0.7)
    400-54.95
long jump 19 feet 4 and .75 inches.

reynolds has run many age group national titles at 100, 200, 400 and even 800 meters, apparently she added the long jump and did not run the 800 this year.

Very impressive for a ninth grader.

If she keeps her motivation up for three more years, she'll make one college coach very happy. The problem is, I've seen this same scenario several times before, and only a few ever ran in college. This is not even a criticism. Having a stellar HS career and then hanging up the spikes to pursue other interests isn't always a bad thing.

It isn't? That's like suggesting that it might be a good idea for some people to stop spending all our time on this message board and get a life.

Her long-time heroine exists no more in the sport. I think she'll want to hang around a while longer and excel in areas on the track where her role model didn't.

What if you don't WANT a life?! Life is just too complicated. I want clarity and simplicity in my life. I want to dumb it waaaay down. That's why I come here!

Florida has, and has had, marvelous prep athletes. The summer track programs there do a good job, too.

According to a story now on the front page, Locke broke state records (I assume that means meet records) set by Demps (100) and Dix (200). That's pretty impressive.

JW ran her 11.56 into a big headwind and it had been raining all day (i was there). With the same tailwind she wouldve been looking at around 11.2 and she was 14 at the time!

According to the athletics rankings and stats websites she hasnt ran many 200s, her PB is again as a 14 year old and will have had no one pushing her in a 200.

                              7.38 PB for a 60 - very quick!

And a 54.95 indoor fro a 400, over here they only run upto 300 at her age, im not aware of what training she does but i doubt she will have done much work geared at a 400.
