    Hows the X-Man's training going?

What event(s) is he going to be concentrating on this year?

Thi man seems to have become the forgotten man of track, but if he gets on form he could be a danger to the medals in Berlin, probably only over the 200

Last week another posting stated that because of injuries or fear of injuries "X-Man" isn't racing in the 1st two weeks of May.

Although his best race may be 200, because of Bolt and rumored "Hamstring issues" he may concentrate on 400 this year. He was injured while running 200s at nationals in 2007 & 2008, so 400 may be a good fit in 2009.

Bolt, Gay, Spearmon, Dix, Martina and Crawford/Martin (U.S. has 4 entries in 2009) could be top six at 200 in Berlin.

      I agree.

The 400m looks like the best option for making the team right now.

I believe X has run high 44 this year?

After Merritt and Wariner it appears to be wide open as a couple of others are struggling a little.

"X - Man" ran 44.70 last year to win at Reebok.

He ran 45.75 in Australia on Feb. 28, then 44.94r on DMR at Penn R.

U.S. has four places for Berlin in 100, 200, 400 & 400H for men, so I think that 400 is best in 2009 for X.

I've always thought the 200 should be his best event, and I still think so.

I wrote that he "may" choose 400. His web site has had no new information since June 2008. Postings have been second hand and rumor. We do know that he ran 200w & 400r in the last two weeks of April. We don't know when he will race again. He ran at Adidas in 2007 & 2008 at 200, so he may run there again next week.

I think X should concentrate on the 400.
He has the blazing speed and stamina to be a force in that event, provided he stays free of injuries. I alawys said that it would take a bonafide quarter miler with sub 20 200 speed to beat JW- and thats what happened. Only X has run much faster than Merritt in the deuce. Imagine if could stay healthy and focus on that event alone. This is a great time for X to begin emerging in the 400.

Xavier is entered in the 200m at the Adidas Track Classic. It's a smart move ... he shouldn't rule out any options at this point.

By the way,has Wallace Spearmon run a 200m race yet this season?

The only race of any sort I heard of him racing so far this season was his 400m race against Tyson Gay recently.

Did he even run in any relays? Why is he starting the season so late?
