This summer , the IAAF Congress will decide whether or not to introduce a No False Start Rule(similar to the NCAA's). Are you in favor of such a rule?
I am certainly not in favor of such a rule. The current rules should suffice(1st false start charged to the field and the next one charged to the individual).
In a high tension/intensity final, athletes sometime flinch just before the gun goes off due to the the pressure. Under current rules, this first offense would be charged to the entire field. The next move results in a disqualification.
I have seen too many "great" NCAA athletes get disqualified on the initial flinch due to their no false start regime.
Your thoughts?
