Rock is also out. He is running poorly again, I'm sad to write. Spearmon ran 45.50 at PennR, then poorly 400/200 in Austin. Is he injured?

He said in a post race inteview in Austin that he felt great and wasn't real happy with his time. He said the key was that he could wait a few minutes and then go out and repeat the same 400 performance so his endurance was there. He said his coach felt that he's on course to be the triple threat most people believe can be.

I think the interview may be at Preracejitters.com.

There's also an inteview with DeeDee (and Felix). I know you asked about her the other day.

      EDIT: Here's the Spearmon interview : http://vimeo.com/tag:texasinvite

            You're welcome, Gleason.

And I hope he's ready too.

I understand what you were saying about his results so far.

But you heard him speak of possibly running sub10, sub20 and 44.x so it sounds like his coach has a plan.

Unbelievable. TV just spent 5 minutes on Tyson Gay, who isn't in the race. I know it's an adidas meet and he's an adidas guy, but still . . . .

LOL, that was so darn funny. Yohan Blake, worrying about the guy next to him, thinking guys were gonna be call back. He need to don't worry if people false start and run until you hear a second gun.

How is that any worse than spending 5 minutes on each sprint race watching false starts?

Isn't it a live telecast? If so, there's not much you can do about the false starts.

Merritt blows the field away in around 20.07...

I wonder what he would run if they didn't have to run 80m full-out on the firsty try.... sigh........... probly sub 20

Indeed. No surprise the 400 guy made the field look silly over the last 50m in those circumstances.
