is this going to be national and/or elite club teams?

Not according to their web site. The best tickets seem to be gone, but there appear to be plenty still available.

Only a couple hundred stadium seats near top @ start ,a few scattered singles in 108&9 and about 2500 back grandstand seats(LJside) evenly split between30&20 bucks are still showing on website

I'm not shocked, i'm more disappointed. This guy does this year in year out. I am wondering how many times will he cry wolf before people just lose faith in him and just give up. Every year Asafa is injured at one meet, then a week or two later, he turns up blows everyone away, breaks a record, and no signs of injury...AND this tend to happen at meets that he's supposed to run with people who he considers to be competition. A week or so ago, he stated blatantly in the J'can newspaper that he's ready to go, now this.... It was reported in the Jamaican gleaner yesterday, and Frano was quoted as saying: “It seems as if he is good to go,” Francis said, but added: “I can not predict or tell you how race ready he is going to be by next Saturday, but for sure, I know by the week after, he will be a lot fitter”....how can he tell this??? Does he have a FIT-O-METER that he's assessing him on? I know I am tired of all this duck duck goose goose games they play, and if i pool jamaican fans I'd morenthan likely get similar results.

He tried that already, remember? He "man up" and ran at Penn, only to aggravate the injury and make it worse.

An ankle injury is not the nicest in the world, believe me.

I for one cannot blame them (Francis and Asafa, especially Francis since Asafa showed bad judgment in trying to run at Penn) for being cautious at this point. The bottom line is that only two events matter in '09: the Jamaican trials and the Berlin WC. Any other meet is not necessary, is not crucial, and if the athlete is not healthy enough in the eyes of the coach it is better to err on the side of caution than to lament afterward.

So, on this point we differ. You need him to "man up" and run in New York. I need him to be 100% healthy to run in Kingston, then Berlin. We can agree to disagree.
