Dwight Stones does a great job announcing these meets. I'm glad he is a track fan. A lot of good track and field athletes are not big track fans. Dwight is.

There was a rebroadcast on FSW at 1PM PDT. The Rawson/Lewis/Johnson gang ought take a look at how to televise a meet. Dwight was on the crew, along with Barry Thompson and Tom Feuer (and I thought I was having a hair shortfall  ). Good comentary and calling of the races.

I didn't watch either meet, but the comparison isn't valid. The adidas meet was done with a couple of hours delay (i.e., "live") whereas the Pac-10 was done on a 4-day delay, allowing all kinds of time to chop out dead air, redo bblown calls, etc, etc.

(Disclaimer: I didn't watch either because all track on TV sucks)

I watched the PAC 10 and Big 12 meets and thought they were very well
presented. I didn't even change the channel during the interviews!

Point taken. Obviously, if you have time to edit, it can be cleaned up. But the call of the race was probably live. Granted, TF is west coast based, and knows the faces, but damn, Rawson has been doing it for a long time and just can't seem to sort out who the people are.

Garry, you do have a bit of an advantage in that your job description allows to see a lot more meets as dog intended it, LIVE. So far this year I have managed only the throws meets in San Diego county, the UCSD invite (which involved the throws chase) and Carson. I'll hit the San Diego section next week and that's all folks, until Berlin. I have a conflict with the nationals, so no Eugene this year

My job description has allowed me to see two meets this year: Millrose and the Pac-10.
