tom mallon split 1:48.9 final leg...6 suburban philly teams ran 7:45 or faster, real hot race till the final leg.. mallon doubled back to win 800 in 1:52...reports are stanford and virginia are eladers for this JUNIOR...

boys javelin.. justin shirk, with a 235 throw already, won in a tight competition, a 212, with couple others a few feet behind...

Actually he split 1:49.0 in leading Central Bucks to that 7:33x state record and PA state title. But still a MONSTER effort by the junior middle distance talent!!

ok, i hand timed it, so i was off a tenth...

i do eventually think he becomes a miler, big kid sort of like andrew wheating, runs far more evenly paced laps than wheating, although mallon does finish well,,

paul vandergrift was the best 800 meter in this area, and mallon is better..

nice to see all the district one teams congratulate them after the race..

hope to see albemarle and central bucks south hook up sometime this summer
