Has there been any talk of Arkansas hosting the USATF indoor meet. I know the airport access isn't the greatest but the atmosphere and the facility are great. I have been to the Tyson meet, an SEC indoor championship and NCAA meet there and they were great. The town really supports track.

I think it's a shame Univ. of Houston didn't build a facility with more seating. Crowds really show up there, even for all-comer meets. Other than the seating, the facility is top notch. -

Not knocking Arkansas because they really do have a topnotch program that generates tons of support for the team even on the road. But do we have any indication that a USATF meet that by definition doesn't have foreigners thus negating many/most of the famous Arkansas alums and would thus have very little Hog presence would draw people? My unfortunate guess is no.Comment

I agree that the facility and atmosphere is great, but to me the crowd always seems to be a little to much home town. Arkansas has unbelievable support, but being from a different school it seems like there wouldn't be any support for other athletes. This comment is only based on the NCAA championships. If the crowd would support athletes in general I think it would be wonderful. Ex. OregonComment

Yes, I know that USATF had been in touch with some at Arkansas about hosting the indoor nationas at the Tyson arena.
One person in Arkansas's camp told me he didn't think it was worth their while, so don't look for it to happen any time soon.
I think the realist above is correct. The track meets at Arkansas are successful because they feature the Hogs. Without that, the meet would be a dud, IMHO.Comment
