That was a really impressive last couple of laps from Kristin Wurth-Thomas! 4:03 for the win is pretty good and a WL according to the commentators.

Must be able to get closer to 4:00 in a higher-quality race.

And a very respectable run by the young high schooler, Sveinsson.

To my shame I thought she'd gone too early and would be running through treacle for the last 250m or so, but it was a really gutsy run and she was strong all the way to the end.

Me also, to have that kind of effort on her face with 2 laps to go in a 1500 is very rare. I know how it feels to die horribly and i was pleasantly surprised she didnt, but she looks really fit.
              phsstt!

She's clearly ready to go a good bit faster, given the wind and how long she had to run alone.

Should be a good race next week with Rowbury.

saw sveinsson run away with the penn relays mile this year..

4:18 1500, perhaps tfnews will mention her...

penn relays was in huge wind...

last year she set the hs freshman mark in the mile...

CTW's face is always screwed with effort and concentration. It's just the way she rolls. But boy can she roll. That was a great mostly solo effort.
It was a short-lived world leader, however. Three in Hengelo went faster.

Didn't Wirth-Thomas run well in the early season last year only to not have anything left psot trials? I hope that isn't the case this yr if so!

I keep hearing this. Didn't Mary Decker run 4:40 as a frosh?

Almost certainly not in a HS race; I do not know if that is what is meant by a freshman record.
