[quote="Marlow"]After Day 1 of the Deca

    1 KASYANOV Oleksiy UKR 4461
    2 HARDEE Trey USA 4391
    3 SCHRADER Michael GER 4341
    4 WIBERG Nicklas SWE 4311
    5 SEBRLE Roman CZE 4257

In Hardee's PR 8534 at the 2008 OT, he scored 4454 on the opening day. He scored 4159 on the 2nd day last year in Austin, when he had the meet in hand and took the 1500 easy. He has a decent shot at a PR.

Kasyanov has never hit 3900 on the 2nd day. Barring disaster, Hardee should beat him easily.

Schrader's score is a Day 1 PR. He's young and improving. Has never hit 4000 on the 2nd day, but that could happen tomorrow.

Wiberg must have had a massive Day 1 PR. Full decathlon PR is 8040.

Sebrle is Sebrle - a legend, a great competitor - but I don't think these days he can make up 134 points on Hardee on the second day (again, barring disaster).

So I think Hardee is in good shape to win this competition. But if Hardee has some off events and Schrader hits a few more PR's and is within striking distance, the 1500 could be interesting. He's fairly fast (for a decathlete).

Schrader had a long jump of 8.05 (26' 5'') but then got cramps in the high jump and the 400m.

Wiberg had a massive day 1. Acoording to www.friidrott.se he is 200p ahead of his pb series and the two first events of day two has kept that distance to his pb.
Weak in the PV but really strong in the two last events. Has a Deca PR around 74 in the JT and is really good at the 1500 to. 4,20 in the PB series.

          Could we see 8300points today!?

Dobrynska's second-best mark ever recorded behind Bejing; a 6.387 at Götzis five years ago is her fourth-best hep.

At this point, I think he'd need a PR in the 1500 to get a PR in the decathlon.

Is the 1500 that bad for him - he has avg. 873 over 9 events and his PB is 8534??? All he needs is 676. What's up up? - endurance should be the easiest thing to gain.

Where are the IAAF scoring Tables I looked on their website - couldn't find it.

                              His PB -1500 - is like 4:42??

He could still improve that even at 190 lbs - might be a little hard work but well worth it.
