On Holm's website scholm.com it said that his attempts at 2.40 were close. Does anyone have the swedish translation on how the meet went?
If you're ever walking down the beach and you see a girl dressed in a bikini made out of seashells, and you pick her up and hold her to your ear, you can hear her scream.

      STEFAN FLYGER VIDARE (www.friidrott.se)

      2.40 - mission possible!

Sorry, it was late when I sent that message. Do you happen to have the English translation?

          Stefan flies on

          2.40 - mission possible !

17 FEB, 2004 Stefan Holm - the worlds best high jumper - further built on his already impressive result suite this winter at Tuesdays high jump gala in Banská Bystrica (Slovakia).

Admittedly his series of world bests ended, but his row of victories and 2.30+ jumps continues:
2.20, 2.25, 2.28, 2.32 and 2.34 went like flowing water in the first tries. Here two competitors remained - Andrij Sokolovskij and Jaroslav Baba - but both had a whole lot of crosses in their protocoll (misses on the tally sheet) on the way there.

Sokolovskij jumped a years-best 2.32 on the first try, but then fouled out at 2.34. Baba cleared 2.32 on his third try and then fouled once at 2.34 and twice at 2.36.

Stefan, who felt fresh after just five jumps, passed 2.36 after being the clear winner for a chance to go directly to 2.40.

It was the fourth competition of five this winter that Stefan jumped at this height and even one more were a couple of the attempts "serious" to say the least.

The next possibility to knock on the dream border will be on Sunday, when Stefan jumps at the indoor Swedish Championships in Göteborg!

A visit to the Track House is recommended to be warm, that is!
